Gerry Stoker is a 30-year veteran of municipal building and zoning as well as residential and commercial construction and development.  Gerry has been employed by the City of Norwood since January of 2008 and   is responsible for the overall operation Norwood’s Building Department, including staff support to the Norwood Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals.  Gerry served as Loveland’s Director of Building and Zoning Department from 1994-2007.   Prior to that, Gerry served the building, zoning, and economic development departments of the cities of Hamilton, Sharonville, and Fairfield for 16 years and possesses a number of professional licenses, including:

o        State of Ohio - Class I Commercial Building Official
o        State of Ohio - Class I Residential Building Official
o        State of Ohio - Class II Residential Plans Examiner
o        State of Ohio - Class III Residential Building Inspector
o        State of Ohio - Class III Commercial Building Inspector
o        ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector

Gerry also serves as the Chairman of the Residential Construction Advisory Committee for the State of Ohio.

Mark Reeves, Commercial/Residential Building Inspector

Mark is a life-long resident of Norwood with over 25 years of construction experience.  Mark is responsible for the inspections of all new residential and commercial projects and repairs throughout the community. These construction projects involve a variety of technical inspection, including framing, insulation, heating and cooling equipment, along with sprinkler and fire alarm systems.  Mark’s responsibilities also include the issuance and inspection of zoning permits. From 1988-1999 Mark was a member of the Greater Cincinnati Building Trades and has a background in: demolition and environmental remediation, along with possessing licenses in lead and hazardous waste remediation and as a asbestos remediation contractor. Mark has been employed with the City of Norwood for over 14 years and is certified by the State of Ohio as both a Class III Commercial and Class III Residential Building Inspector.

Charles Russ, Housing Inspector

Charles is a Norwood resident with over 20 years of construction experience. Charles has been employed by the City of Norwood for 13 years and is skilled as a journeyman carpenter and is certified by the International Code Council as a Property Maintenance Housing Inspector.  Charles works closely with the Norwood Police, Fire, Health and Law Departments to resolve property maintenance complaints.  Charles is responsible to ensure that all existing commercial and residential structures with the community are maintained to in accordance with Norwood’s Property Maintenance Code.

Jim Shelby, Housing Inspector

Jim is a life-long Norwood resident and has been employed with the City of Norwood for 6 years and is a licensed plumber and is certified by the International Code Council as a Property Maintenance Housing Inspector. Jim works closely with the Norwood Police, Fire, Health and Law Departments to resolve property maintenance complaints.  Jim is responsible to ensure that all existing commercial and residential structures with the community are maintained to in accordance with Norwood’s Property Maintenance Code.

Carri has been employed with the City of Norwood for 14 years. Her duties include clerical support for building department staff, along with support to the Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, Plumbing Board and the Board of Property Maintenance Appeal.
